NMSU Tutors operate on Mountain Standard Time (MT)

Campus Tutoring Services offers NMSU Global Campus students free, accessible and convenient options to supplement their academic experience. Campus Tutoring offers individual and small group tutoring virtually via NMSU Zoom.

Online tutoring is provided live via Zoom, allowing you to interact with a Peer Tutor by using a microphone, a webcam, or a text-based chat box. Your Peer Tutor will use an interactive whiteboard to diagram concepts and you can share your screen to review documents and clarify course material together.

What is Expected of You

  • Students understand that Peer Tutors are not permitted to help with any take-home tests, exams/quizzes, or uncompleted homework assignments.
  • Students are expected to come prepared with questions and class materials.
  • Students are encouraged to communicate with their Peer Tutor about ways they learn best and whether they need material explained through different modalities.

What You Can Expect from Campus Tutoring Services and Your Peer Tutor

  • Guaranteed 60-minute tutoring session (additional time is dependent on Tutor’s availability)
  • Peer Tutors are trained to provide an extra layer of academic support by reviewing critical concepts and materials from class, clarifying points of confusion, and developing study strategies for upcoming exams.
  • Peer tutoring is private and protected by FERPA

What if You Need Tutoring Outside of our Hours of Operation?

NMSU Global Campus students now have free access to Brainfuse, a supplemental online resource provided to NMSU students in partnership with the State of New Mexico.

Brainfuse is a web-hosted software program that provides 24/7 tutoring assistance to students throughout the nation. Students will be able to seek tutorial support from several live professionals in a variety of courses and disciplines.

If you are a student that is off-campus and would like to use the Brainfuse program, you’ll need to go through the authentication page and log in using your NMSU username and your Aggie ID as the password.
